This was a commission by an aunt of mine who has been very supportive of both my music and mosaic careers. She had gone on a trip to Spain and purchased a nice art-glass platter there. On the trip home this platter got completely shattered, and she commissioned this mosaic in order to salvage something from this disaster. This use of the surviving shards of art glass turned out to be an even more successful salvage operation than anticipated: this mosaic was a successful entry in the 2007 SAMA juried show in Mesa Arizona. My aunt is very pleased!
